Excellent illustration

Sir: The best refutation of the absurd criticisms of your colour reproductions (Roger Law, Letters, 13 June) is the excellent illustration on page 47 of the same issue from Winifred Nicholson 's painting.

It is probably not surprising that some- one who specialises in the gross and the grotesque is incapable of appreciating any- thing so delicate as a postage-stamp-sized picture.
