In a Forest Glade. By E. A. Minty. (Digby, Long,

and Co.) —We have read many a worse story than In a Forest Glade, which has some well-described scenes and situations in it, and lacks principally a knowledge of the proper manner in which to group. circumstances. The characters have a most decided want of con- sistency and self-control about them. The story ends rather tragically, but by no means unnecessarily and inartistically so.
