Hose, the_ ,Chairman • and Managing Director of the Anglo- South American Bank, had resigned the Managing Director- ship, regret was modified-by satisfaction that be-had retained the Chairmanship of the bank whose creation and prosperity will always be so closely identiftedeWith himi,and by the fact that the Board had appointed as his successor in the Managing Directorship Mr. W. E. Wells, who for so many years has • seconded Mr. Hose's efforts in everything pertaining to the foreign activities of the bank and who in recent years has also been his right hand in everything pertaining to the General Management. At the annual meeting of the bank, which was held this week, Mr. Hose gave his usual exhaustive summary of the general trade and financial outlook, with particular reference to foreign countries in which the operations of the Anglo-South American Bank are largely carried on.
