I SUPPOSE that few people have been able to take this year's weather for better or for worse ; which is the right way to take weather. The maddening bad luck which has dogged our armies in France and in Italy, especially during the last two months, and in particular during that terrible week at Arnhem, has made us all tetchy, and inclined to tread heavily on any simple soul who may be tactless enough even to mention the weather.
