Those who recognise with some anxiety the complete irreplace- ability

of Mr. Bevin at the Foreign Office will be glad to know that no cause remains for the concern his recent illness occasioned. In spite of his labours at Paris, the other labours in which he is now plunged in connection with Palestine,- and the prospect of further labours at next month's meeting of the Council of Four, the Foreign Secretary is in excellent health—and in surprisingly good spirits.
