For modern youth, true Babbits all agree Is but 'a communist conspiracy.'

It's safer, they decide by acclamation, There should not be a rising generation.

The price of peace is an unending war, As it has been so frequently before.

Is it so strange that youth should feel cold In such a world at thought of growing old, And take some comfort that, as things are staged, They stand small chance of getting middle-aged?
