These arrangements are but little calculated to improve the piano- forte player. MERCADANTE'S humdrum basses are not beneficial prac- tice for the learner, and they are beneath the notice of those who can play. BELLINI'S air is a pleasing one ; and to those who wish to prolong their acquaintance with it, the present version may be acceptable. •
