The Turks have lost another of their frontier fortresses,—that of

Kali, which it is supposed will hasten the fall of Nicropolis. It was taken by assault on the 24th of January ; but the garrison does not appear to have been strong. The suburbs of Tournoul have also been taken ; and the whole population were either put to the sword or fled into the citadel" The Turks have kept the field during the winter ; but have suf- fered severely from the weather and from the want of provisions.
