to a crocodile having appeared on a Pacifist island, mentioned in the interesting article on crocodiles it Palestine in your last week's number, reminds me of a4 occurrence at Barbados in 1886. An alligator, to the best of my recollection nine or ten feet long, came ashore near St. Ann's Barracks, and was shot by a Sergeant-Major of the Labour Corps. It was supposed to have come from the island
