Khaki and Cassock. By Kenneth T. Henderson. (Melbourne : Melville

and Mullen. 5s.)—Mr. Henderson served in France as a chaplain with the Australian Corps. His short sketches of life at the front are vivid and uncommon. We are interested mainly, however, in his chapter on "Army Theology," recording actual conversations which illustrate the chaplain's difficulties, and contain some useful hints for ministers of religion who seek to appeal to the average young man. The illustrations by Bom- bardier M. M. Waller show unusual ability—especially the powerful drawing of " Bush Types on the Somme."
