The British Slate Company, which is now working three slate

quarries in Carnarvonsbire, North Wales, has announced a further issue of shares. The chief object the directors have in view in augmenting their capital is to increase the inefficiency of the various departmenta of the works in such a degree, that orders which with most firms at the present moment occupy a period of not less than two years in their completion, may be executed with much greater rapidity, and by that means the directors estimate that they will be able to compete to great advantage with other firms, and also hope to increase the business of the undertaking very considerably. The capital of the company is 100,000/., in 10,000 sham; of 10/.
