Rondo for the Pianoforte. Capriccio for the Pianoforte and Violin.

By Rims THOMSON, Esq. Mr. THOMSON knows how to write for the pianoforte as well as for

the voice; and it is most commendable in an amateur, in this age of arrangements, to direct his exertions in the right course—in compositions expressly for the instrument intended to be employed. The motivo of the Rondo is graceful, and there is a unity of design about the compo- sition which we like : the passages are brilliant, but never disjointed or out of place. The Capriccio has an equal degree of excellence, and is well calculated to exhibit both performers to advantage; the Violin part not being ad libitum, but obligato.
