The Impact of Korea

SIR,—" Cantabrian " writes that M. Vishinsky " is said " to have cautioned against the invasion of South Korea. "Is said " by whom? Iron and other curtains apart, how can we know what is said by people in M. Vishinsky's position ? In any case, we are still lamentably ignorant as to what happened round about June 25th and the causes of whatever happened.

Cantabrian " goes on to lament that the period between the two world wars was an age with " few ideals or enthusiasms." I found plenty of both, and so did my son ; we fought against poverty, disease, ignorance, Fascism, anti-Semitism and persecution of negroes and other minorities, and we fought for peace and enlightenment.—Yours faithfully,
