The Courier of this evening positively denies the truth of this story. The same journal, in terms as precise as the answers to a bill in Chan- i eery, asserts the utter falsehood of another statement of the Post—that Mr. GEORGE PONSONBY had been promised a Commissionership of ' Customs; and being disappointed in getting that office, was then offered the Auditorship of the Exchequer ; a four hours' apprentice- ship to the duties of which he was also said to have served. Mr. PON- ' SONBY has personally authorized the absolute contradiction in every , particular of this "manifest falsehood," as the Courier terms it. •
