The Democratic Convention will be held in New York on

June 24th, and the lists will then be set for the great contest. It is possible that as the Republicans have chosen a Conservative-minded representative the Demo- crats may he driven a little more to the Left than they would otherwise have gone, in order to mark their differ- ence from the Republicans. It is still possible that Senator La Follette may come forward as an Independent candidate. In that event the effect upon either or both of the great parties may be considerable.
