The Government has advertised for contracts, at Cork, for grinding

Indian corn. Naval depots for coal and other stores are forming in Cove and in the Shannon. A cotton-mill, the property of Messrs. James Livesey and Son, at Hoghton, about six miles from 'Preston, was burned to the ground on Thursday. The damage is estimated at from 10,000/. to 15,0001.

A number of officers of the Thirty-first Regiment received orders on Thursday to proceed en route, by overland, to join their regiment on the Sutlej.
