I am grieved to have grieved those whom I should

grieve to grieve. But it seems that I have. A few weeks ago, writing on something concerning Cambridge, I added incidentally, " I note without comment that Cambridge heads the national poll, with Oxford a good second, in convictions for drunkenness. I had, in fact, noted that several daily papers had made the statement, which had apparently gone uncontradicted. But it seems that it is not true. I am delighted to hear it, and to proclaim the fact. JANUS.
