Arthur B. Davison. (Longmans and Co.)—There is a freshness and novelty about this volume which books of extracts do not commonly possess. Mr. Davison has wandered far from the beaten track, and gathered some part, at least, of his extracts in fields unknown to most of us. A wide range of reading and a power of discriminating choice combine to make his book a remarkably good one.
