Folk Stories from Northern Nigeria. By Elphinstone Dayrell. With Introduction

by Andrew Lang. (Lo e°8 and Co. 4e. 6d. net.)—No one is likely to pass by an introduction which comes commended by the name of Mr. Lang. Still, we would specially warn our readers not to do so. Mr. Lang has an unrivalled know- ledge of comparative folk-lore, and offers some valuable remarks on the parallels to be observed in these tales to others which are found in very distant ages and countries. In themselves the stories are often very interesting.
