FAMILIAR MISQUOTATIONS

[To the Editor of the SPECTATOR.] SIR,—I do not think that anyone has drawn attention to one of the most curious and persistent misquotations: "When Greek meets Greek, &c."—the exact opposite to the correct : "When Greeks joined Greeks, there was the Tug of War "— which referred to the quarrels among themselves and consc. quent weakness.
