The election for Andover terminated in the complete defeat of

the Liberal candidate. The numbers at the close of the poll were— Mr. Humphery, 130; Mr. Hawkshaw, 83. Mr. Humphery, in his address after the close of the poll, paid great compliments to Mr. Hawkshaw, but accused the South-Western Railway of exerting an improper influence on the election.
