The Peking Tariff Conference has been plodding steadily away at

its work with rumours of the civil war all round it. A surprising change has come over the intentions of two of the rival leaders in the war. The Times correspondent says that General Chang (the Mukden War Lard) and General Feng (the Christian General) under pressure from the Government have consented to reason together. For the time being the conflict for the possession of Peking has been postponed. * . *
