Tan DEPUTY GOVERNORSHIP.

In view of his multifarious interests in the shipping world, it was scarcely with surprise that the City learned that Sir Alan Anderson, the present Deputy- Governor, was not seeking re-election, and accordingly the Court of Directors will recom- mend next April that Mr. Henry Alexander Trotter be elected as Deputy Governor. This announcement also.was received With satisfaction, because Mr. Trotter has already served as Deputy Governor during the first three years of Mr. Norman's Governorship, and, therefore, assuming that Mr. Norman vacates the Chair in April, 1927, there should be ready to succeed him someone who will have had exceptionally long experience in the office of Deputy Governor.
