DR. BENES AT ABERDEEN SIR,—I have a great admiration and

respect for The Spectator, and was much surprised to find a startling inaccuracy in your "News of the Week " of November 14th. You say that Dr. Benes outlined his peace plan for Europe in Edinburgh, that it deserves fuller consideration and that yoU hope to recur to it. When you do so, 'please state that it was when Dr. Benes was receiving the degree of Doctor of Laws from Aberdeen University that he outlined his peace plan. Aberdeen is very proud to number Dr. Benes among her honorary graduates.—Yours sincerely, HELEN S. NICOL. 222 Springfield Road, Aberdeen.

[We regret the slip. It was in the previous week that Dr. Bents was speaking at Edinburgh.—En., The Spectator.]
