Rental Portfolio in Germany

Low prices are attracting UK buyers to Berlin Terry Meakin, an accountant from Bath, wanted to broaden his portfolio of investments and decided to invest in residential property in Germany. After a couple of visits he decided to purchase 6 apartments in the Charlottenburg area of Berlin.

The properties, all in one block with similar layouts, provide excellent rental returns as well as having potential for good long term capital growth.

He purchased the apartments for a total of €420,000. After a recommendation from his solicitor he rang specialist currency provider Caxton FX to discuss the best way to exchange his funds into Euros.

“As soon as I spoke to Caxton FX I felt reassured that I was getting best value for my sterling. The rate they gave me was a lot better than the rate I was offered by my bank. In total, Caxton FX saved me over £3,400”
