The inhabitants of Leicester take a deep interest in the

inquiries which the Commissioners are making into the abuses of their notorious Corporation. It is easy to perceive what the result of those inquiries is likely to be, from the rage and abuse which the Tory organ, the .Leicester Herald, pours upon the Commissioners, and their mode of investigation. It is very gratifying to observe this; for if the Corp°. ration-men were pleased, it would amount to a proof that the Com- missioners had neglected their duty. Many disgraceful disclosures will unquestionably be made of the malepractices of corporate bodies throughout the kingdom ; but we suspect, that when the evidence is published, those of the Leieester Corporation will be found almosz without a parallel.
