the Greek Revolution" is, it seemed to us as we read, a little confused. An author may complicate a plot as much as he pleases, and prepare as many surprises as may be possible, but the reader must have a clear idea of what is going on, and that without taking trouble. So far, something is wanting in Amygda/a. But Mrs. Edmonds knows what she is writing about, and makes her sketches of character and incident sufficiently picturesque and bright.
