SIR,—My "ma place an soleil" is in Article VI. of the "Pens6es," Section 53. But did the German Emperor go so far back as Pascal P He might have found it in Balzac's " Le Colonel Chabert " (Nelson's Edition, p. 543, line 7), "gut no demands que sa place au soleil," with no special quotation mark.
