INTERNATIONAL. LANGUAGES.

(To THE EDITOR or THE " SPECTATOR."1 SIR,—The reviewer in your issue of the Spectator of April 15th of A Short History of the International Language Movement states that the cynic, will ask in vain why an artificial language (such as Esperanto or Idol is easier or simpler than French, or English, or Latin; and it would, therefore, seem evident that ho is somewhat unfamiliar with the subject. If he will deign to look into an Esperanto grammar the answer will be obvious, for he will find that the whole of the grammar can be mastered -in about half an hour, and thereafter progress in the language is rapid and easy.—I am, Sir, &c., T. PEARSE GANDELL.
