Answers, please

Sir: As a perfectly normal working-class, left-wing, agnostic homosexual, I enjoy your organ each week for the sense of re- assurance it gives me in reinforcing the ver- ity of my own ideas, which are invariably opposed to your own.

That said, I cannot help puzzling over an apparent anomaly which appears week after week.

Said anomaly is this: why is it that so many of your columnists, who are whole- heartedly opposed to the edicts of the democratically elected European Parlia- ment and its (admittedly non-elected) multi national commission, are so ready to accept, as unchallengeable truth, the edicts of a despot in Rome?

I ask only because I wish to know.
