[TO THE EDITOR OF THE "SPECTATOR.1 SIR,—In order to prevent a little confusion in the minds of those who take an interest in the subject, will you permit me to point out that a work recently published by Messrs. Longmans and Co., entitled Apparitions, a Narrative of Facts," is, as far as its title goes, an infringement of my book, entitled "Apparitions, an Essay, Explanatory of Old Facts and a New Theory," and published by Triibner and Co. early last year ?
