It appears that Queen Isabella is preparing to present the

throne of Spain with an heir, after all. The political importance of the event causes it to be discussed, even in the Spanish capital, with a cold inquisitiveness that should be most painful to the young lady. The death of our Queen Adelaide has been employed as the occasion for making an indirect advance towards the English Government ; the Spanish Court having resolved to outstep the necessities of etiquette in its regretful abstinence from gayeties. Should the advance be effectual for reconcilement, it will form a suitable homage to the memory of the departed Princess ; and in that sense the British Court might meet it half-way.
