Ant ills

Sir: Though I hope to be able to read the article in the British Medical Journal referred to by Dr J. Rowan Wilson in `Ant ills' (1 December), I hope that, for the benefit of those of us who are laymen and have not got the BM., to hand, he,will amplify his remarks.

One would like to know what differences there were, if any, between the occupants of the flats and those living in houses, in age, rank, intelli- gence and previous social -background, and also whether central heating was the main source of heating in the flats as opposed to the houses.

John Rowan Wilson writes : These were service families of non-commissioned ranks. There were no differences in age, intelligence, or seniority. All the dwellings were centrally heated.
