The Strenuous Life. By Theodore Roosevelt. (Grant Richards. 6s.)—These essays and addresses were reviewed by us at length a year ago. In welcoming the second edition we will only say that they can safely stand on their own merits. They are not merely interesting because they are written by a great statesman, but because they contain sound and wholesome matter for reflection expressed in vigorous language. Frederick the Great's music; was said to be "good for a King." No one need say that these essays are "good for a President." They are good in themselves.
