Colonel J. H. Leslie has compiled An Historical Roll (with

Portraits) (Sheffield: Sir W. C. Lang; Is. each part) of those British women who have won the Military Medal for " bravery and devotion under fire," and is issuing it in parts, each con- taining eight portraits and biographies. One hundred and fifty women have gained this distinction, beginning with Lady Dorothie Feilding, who drove a motor-ambulance behind the Flanders front from 1914 to 1917. Another medallist is Miss Florence Williams, who tended our wounded soldiers in the Dublin streets during the Easter rising of 1916.
