The arguments of the counsel for Dr. Newman, in the

Court of Queen's Bench, were not finished yesterday. The Attorney-General and Mr. Bram- well were heard ; and Mr. Sergeant Wilkins addressed the court today on the same side, but Lord Campbell's decision has not yet reached us.

Among the passengers who arrived yesterday at Southampton in the In- dian mail-steamer Ripon, was a gentleman from Australia, who has made a rapid fortune, amounting to 75,0001., by gold dealings in that country.
