Stopping the party

Sir: Your contributors are always writing about the Spectator Party. It sounds love- ly; but I never seem to get invited. I subscribe to The Spectator; read it avidly every week; write you letters (sometimes you even publish them); enter your com- petitions (sometimes Jaspistos even gives me an hon. mention); do the crossword (sometimes I even finish it and send it in). But you never invite me to your party. Don't you think it's a bit rude of your contributors to go on and on and on about this lovely party that the people who provide the fare and the wherewithal never get invited to? Do you think they could stop it?
