The Last of the General Election The election in the

Rugby Division of Warwickshire was unhappily delayed by the death of one of its candi- dates after the first nominations: The result was declared last Saturday as follows :- H. D. Margesson (Unionist) .. 15,147

J. Morgan (Labour).. • . 11,588 R. H. Bernays (Liberal) .. 10,158

Captain Margesson was an assistant Whip in the Unionist Government. The Labour Party largely increased its vote on the new Register, but. the Unionist majority of 8,559 is little less than that of 1924, namely 3,910 over the Liberal candidate. The complete parties as elected and without regard to the agility of the Attorney-General, stand thus :—Labour 287 ; Unionst 260 ; Liberal 50 ; and there are 9 Independent members.
