The Quest of Markets This week the festival hall of

the North-East Coast Exhibition has reverberated with the sound of " slogans." The occasion was the meeting of the British Advertising Convention (the use of this term is significant, not to say ominous). The prevailing theme was shown in the title " The Quest of Markets," which covered most of the speeches. After Lord Riddell and .Sir Gilbert Vyle came Mr. Ernest Remnant, who, in a somewhat lengthy paper, made clear his own attitude to Soviet Russia, and,' at the same tine, talked a great deal of sound common sense which ought to be read, marked and digested by everyone in conjunction with the Report on the results of the recent industrial mission to Russia, which 'we are promised in a few days.
