Good idea

Sir: Rory Knight Bruce, wearing his hat as editor of the Evening Standard's London- er's Diary, writes of his distaste for Hew Kennedy's escapades with his siege engine (Letters, 25 May). He fails to mention that, when not editing his Diary, he is joint master of a local Shropshire hunt.

Personally, I am in favour of both field sports but, as Hew's projectiles, to date, have been deceased when launched, it occurs to me that were some of the Standard's animal-loving, anti-hunting, readers aware of his weekend activities, they might be enthusiastic for Rory Knight Bruce to be strapped to Hew's unfortunate Lloyd's agent for a live and parachute-free flight into the River Severn.
