The unrest in Egypt has not yet subsided. '1 he

student riots. in Cairo have ceased, but disturbances have occurred in Alex. andria, Tantah, and other places in the Delta, the railway nem Tantah has been damaged, and the telegraph-wires north _aa south of Cairo have been cut. The peasantry, who form du vast majority of the population, take no part in polities, and Om British garrison will have no difficulty in restoring and main taming order. The Nationalists who are causing the troubt are a small minority led by ambitious Pashas. Egypt is very fa. from being ripe for self-government. Meanwhile the Britisl Protectorate guarantees her peace, proimerity, and justice.
