The Dublin Morning Register of Thursday states, that Mr. O'Connell had an interview with the Lord Lieutenant by special appointment. He laid before the Viceroy a memorial from the people of Clue and Monaghan, conaplawing of certain i1ldivi7 duals of name and station, who had "been ktillty of acts which, if they were sanctioned, would lead to a dissolution: of society in this country." Mr. O'Connell was kind13; received;, and had the satisfaction to learn that the proceedings complained of oey.1- pied. the attention of the Government and the law-officers of the Crown.

Accounts from Calcutta announce the arrival of Lord William Bentinck at the seat of his government ; where he was received with great distinction. The commercial letters from Bombay mention great stagnation of trade, and scarcity of money. Letters from Canton announce the close of the war between the Emperor of China and the Pretender to the Throne by the cap- ture of the latter.
