"story for quiet hours," as Mr. Garrett calls it, is scarcely a story at all, so slight is the thread of incident, Sarah Russell, who has missed "what every woman counts her due, —love, children, happiness," makes herself the source of blessing to others. This is very well told, with much power of thought and a breadth of sympathy which it is very pleasing to meet.
