The short two-clause Bill to terminate the annual payment of

£5,000 to the indirect descendants of Lord Nelson will get its second reading within the next day or two, and an interesting little debate may result, for an Opposition Front Bench Member intends, I believe, to oppose the Bill in a purely personal capacity ; there is no reason

to suppose that the Opposition as such will vote against it. The present Earl Nelson, a Catholic priest, is aged 88, and his brother, who is his heir, 86.
