Sir: Your excellent analysis of Mr Heath's ' nerve' ends

with the prediction that "The time has not yet come — might never arrive — when it is clear that the Conservative Party has to steel itself to knife its leader to save itself and the nation from his consequences."

!disagree. I think the time has come already. It is here and now. Must we reach the very bottom of the Gadarene slop before we act? Must we wait until a Weimar-type inflation overtakes us all? Let us act now and fling this arrogant enemy of the British people from his despotic pinnacle. The only man with the ability and the will and the nerve to save us and whom the people will follow throughout the grim stages of national recovery is Mr Enoch Powell. He must be called to save us now — before it is too late.
