The Emperor of the French on the 15th inst. addressed

a letter to M. Fould directing him to abolish the second decime fee on registrations imposed by the Provisional Government in 1848, as the "Mexican affair is happily solved." His Majesty adds that the " hopes of peace become every day stronger," a sentence supposed to allude to the renewal of the entente cordiale with Great Britain.
