The Insurance Register. (Charles and Edward Layton.)— Among the contents

of this volume are the abstracts of the income, expenditure, funds, rate of interest obtained, of the various insurance companies. We observe that of seventy-one life assurance companies of which particulars are given, five only have adopted the 24 per cent. scale of valuation. It would be useful for insurers if the table were to contain the age of the office, proportion of invested funds to liabilities, and cost of management.
