Sin,—Since you published my letter on July 19th, urging the necessity of founding a chair of English Literature at Athens University, I have been informed officially that the Greek Government would welcome such a foundation and that the Senate of the Athens University has passed a resolu- tion expressing its satisfaction at the proposal. It noW remains for some patriotic Briton or British institution to provide—as three other countries in a similar case have done, and as Japan is proposing to do—the necessary innds,—
