AN eccentric gentleman was brought before Mr. Sergeant Sellon, the other day, charged with the en- tirely novel offence of over-abundant compassion for the poor, He had stripped himself of his own clothes, which were new and expensive, in order to put them upon a poor trembling creature without shoes or stockings, whom he met in the street.
