The Lighthouse. The Story of a Great Fight between Man

and the Sea. By R. M. Ballantyne. With illustrations. (Nisbet.)—Mr. Ballantyne is well known as an author in connection with the perils of the sea. Ha has written in a spirited way about the lifeboat men and the whalers, and he now weaves into an interesting story the incidents connected with the building of the lighthouse on the Bell Rock, off the coast of Forfarahire. There is plenty of room for startling contrasts and hairbreadth adventures in such a recital, and Mr. Ballantyne has availed himself fully of the opportunities presented to him, and has pro- duced a volume which will be appreciated by most boys.
